Implants in Medically Compromised Patients

Description:

The presentation gives a concise overview of evidence available to determine the use of implants in medically compromised patients. A brief review of the levels of evidence in the literature and their influence on clinical decision making is presented. Available evidence is then applied to several conditions with which medically compromised patients may present to the clinic: diabetes, cardiovascular disease, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, bone diseases, and organ transplants. Clinical recommendations on treatment are also shared.
