Professor Scully was a giant in dentistry and prolific speaker at BSP and EFP conferences. He was an innovative and inspiring leader as well as a well-respected author of over 1,100 publications including 40 text books. His published works are highly regarded, including his journals ‘Oral Oncology‘ and ‘Oral Diseases‘.
He held senior positions in many specialty organisations across the world. He was awarded doctorates by many universities including establishments in Athens, Granada, Helsinki and Pretoria. He was awarded medals and awards from many European oral medicine societies and the UK Award for Most Outstanding Achievements in Dentistry.
